Work and Travel throughout America

by Gazela Pudar 10.11.2009
America is often referred to as the place where the dreams come true. This „American dream“ led people there to search own opportunity and success. But, it’s not easy for an average young fellow to go there and stay for a while. Especially, if you are coming from South-Eastern or Eastern Europe, where money is always a problem.

However, there is a chance for you if have a desire to do it!

A great opportunity is the program Work and Travel USA, authorized by the U.S. State Department. For 60 years, students from all over the world come to spend time as a regular USA student. Here, you are not just a tourist, but you can feel real American life! No one stays unmoved – you love it or hate it!

As a program participant, you are able to work 3 to 4 months student seasonal jobs and then, if you like, take some time (up to 30 days) to travel to the places you’ve always dreamed of.

You can find a job yourself or you can get job offers and choose between. You can even save money if you are ambitious enough to work more! Most of the jobs you’ll be able to choose from are casual summer jobs, such as waiting tables in a restaurant, bartending at a summer resort or hotel, working in a shop as a cashier, operating rides etc.

Because:
  • You can spend summer in the United States with no costs (you pay, but you return all your money, and even more)!
  • You have a chance to go travel for a month around America!
  • You get in touch with American culture and life!
  • You can get new friends for whole life!
  • You improve substantially your English!
  • You learn what a work ethics is!
  • You are making a step towards your independence!
  • Finally, because it’s worth of it!!!

So, if you are a full time student between 18 and 30 years of age and have at least minimum English skills, on WORK&TRAVEL USA you can find detailed information and list of the agencies in the countries!

Also, read about  taxes, housing, problems with job or medical insurance and health.
