The city of Thessaloniki has been awarded the title of European Youth Capital for 2014, after winning over Heraklion (Greece) and Ivanovo (Russia). The Award Ceremony took place in November 2011 in Braga, the current European Youth Capital 2012.

According to the panel of jurists that decided to award Thessaloniki, the city stressed the will of establishing sustainable projects for a variety of activities that address young people’s challenges by building on existing structures. Watch their promotional video to see for yourself.
