The sixth edition of the Global Junior Challenge

Registration is now underway for the Global Junior Challenge, the international competition that rewards the innovative use of technology for training, solidarity and intercultural cooperation.

The Global Junior Challenge is an international competition rewarding the most innovative projects employing cutting-edge ICT technologies in the field of youth education and training. The competition, promoted by the City of Rome and organized by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, is held every two years. The aim of the Global Junior Challenge is to encourage young generations and their teachers to use  new technologies, exchange experiences and emulate successful initiatives.

Who can participate? The competition is open to everyone:

  • Schools and universities, both public and private, worldwide
  • Public and private institutions and organisations
  • Associations, cooperatives and other non profit organisations
  • Public and private companies
  • Research Centres
  • Individual citizens of any age

What type of project? All projects that were still in operation as of December 31, 2011 and addressed to youth up to 29 years of age and which use new ICT technology for education and training:

  • Projects for users up to 10 years old
  • Projects for users up to 15 years old
  • Projects for users up to 18 years old
  • Projects for users up to 29 years old

Special Section

  • Projects using ICT to train youth to obtain initial job placemena
  • Projects promoting ICT for immigrants and refugees integration (new 2012)
  • Projects promoting ICT for environmental sustainability (new 2012)


The deadline for submission is March 15, 2012.
