Generation Europe Foundation

by Sasa Petrasova 06.12.2010

Generation Europe Foundation sees as its aim engaging tomorrow’s decision-makers today. On their website, they present projects, a forum, their quarterly magazine and much more. A short summary of their activities for young people as well as teacher is listed below:

Europa Diary - a school diary for students to write down their homework and activities with inspirational quotes, fun facts or thought-provoking questions at the bottom of each page.

In the Forum on Green Entrepreneurship, you will find a blog with ideas about sustainability, a “green library” and other resources, a Compass for navigating in the field of environmentally friendly activities.

Thanks to its community of young professionals and students across all countries of the Council of Europe, Generation Europe Foundation has been able to organise pan-European research on various topics of interest. Employment, as the main concern of young people, has been a recurring theme in GEF research, workshops and surveys. The latest report is entitled Employing the Next Generation and can be downloaded here.

Mind Your Rights - a teaching tool on the European Charter of Fundamental Rights. This pedagogical tool will, in the 2009-2010 school year, be piloted in a total of 300 schools in five countries: the Czech Republic, Estonia, Ireland, Greece and Romania. 'Mind Your Rights' is aimed at students aged 13-16, and can be used by CSPE, European Studies, Religion or English teachers* in conjunction with an art teacher. To read more click here.
