Croatia Summer Camp 2009

by Marta Badia 10.11.2009
CROATIA SUMMER CAMP 2009 from the point of view of two Catalan participants:
Mireia and Alba

The goal of EURO<26 International Summer Camp is to give opportunities to young people coming from different countries to spend an active and joyful week together in the beautiful Croatian coastal town of Zadar, to discover beauties of Croatia and to discuss the EURO<26 project.

All participants should have a valid EURO<26 card and should be between age of 16 and 26. They should be able to work in English and should have basic information about his/her own national EURO<26 activities and discount network. Preferable to bring some EURO<26 promo materials and magazines.

Mireia and Alba were the winners of a mini-competition and a later selection that Youth Card of Catalonia have done between all cardholders that had applied. The prize was go to the Summer Camp in Croatia all paid (flights, stay...).

We want to share their experience with you!

MIREIA’s Experience (quotes):

“When I knew that I was chosen to go to Summer Camp in Croatia, appart from being happy for it, I don’t know exactly what to expect: paid holidays or a week full of activities programmed and a timetable to carry out...”

“...it has been a perfect excuse to meet lots of new people, to share everything with them, travel to a unknown country...”

“...when you travel alone you try to forget all your everyday worries and you create a new way of life and doing, and this is exactly what I have done in Croatia, disonnect...”

“...I have learnt from Eastern Europe people that all history that I have studied from books, it was there in their own skins...”

“It has been a very good and pleasant experience for me”

ALBA’s Experience (quotes):

“When I travel, I always remember people that I meet, then I’m quite sure that ZADAR has contribute in a very special way in my memories”

“Croatia is a country of about 4 million inhabitants and its coast is a fundamental part of it...”

“I must say that I feel really lucky with my trip partner Mireia because we have been like peas in a pot.”

“There was 53 people from different European countries such us: Romania, Lithuania, Cyprus, Ukranie, Serbia, Russia, Andorra etc.”

“One of the best moments that I remember was the visit of KRKA Natural Park, full of waterfalls and beautiful views, another one was our walks in Zadar...”

“The best of everything is that I am in touch with some of people that I have met in Zadar last August”

“Finally I have to say thanks to Carnet Jove to let me live this experience!”
