Model European Union is currently the most realistic simulation of the European Institutions, as it takes place annually in the European Parliament building in Strasbourg. It is a fantastic opportunity for all young Europeans who want to know more about the decision-making process of the EU institutions.

This year the simulation will be taking place from the 24th to 31st March 2012. The event brings together 180 young Europeans who will meet in Strasbourg and simulate the roles of Ministers of the EU member states, Members of the European Parliament, lobbyists, journalists and interpreters, in order to experience, at first hand, European politics. The simulation allows participants to gain an insight into European affairs, learn more about the stance of other countries towards the EU and experience a truly European atmosphere.

Furthermore, it is a great chance to get to know other young Europeans, from different social and cultural backgrounds, bound by a common interest in the European Union.

The application process for Model European Union 2012 was officially open on 28th November, 2011 and will last until 3rd January, 2012.
