Ever since I was a little girl I have been told (by just about every adult...;parents, teachers) BE YOURSELF..OK so I have grown up and I realize that among the many things that I was inadequately prepared for was society stupid pressure. BE YOURSELF? That's what they always said ...That's what i believed in my childish folly but how can I...or anyone else BE ONESELF...in a world where you are ridiculed for every little deviation.
 I understand the importance of being "politically correct" of course I do not want to offend anyone belief's unnecessarily but my physical appearance, most of my personal choices, my likes and dislikes have absolutely nothing to do with being politically correct. Very soon, we will all become a marching band of puppets. Everything sometimes must be magnified and ridiculed if it does not conform to the ridiculous standards set by a bunch of hypocrites. How dare you tell me I have a spec in my eye when you have a log in yours? How dare you tell me what to say? What to do? How to act? What happened to Be Yourself? Freedom of Expression.
Our differences are supposed to make us unique and beautifully: diversity is supposed to be a wonderful thing. Sadly, failure to conform results in extreme emotional pain, internal conflict, insecurity, inferiority. Slavery is still here..Mental, Emotional, Cognitive Slavery. Why do we not all wear straight jackets...that's all that's missing..what we were..what we have become? We are the same as before; the difference is that we have technology to aid us in our endless exploitation. The internet is flooded with cookie cutter images that no normal person can imitate NATURALLY...The narcissism  and egotism encouraged by facebook ... the lack of mental development and cognitive stimulation because there is an 'app' or some other shortcut for everything!
You are probably thinking that I am straying from my point but all these thing provide a powerful impetus for the other. Whatever is in style we will do no matter what WE really think..It's so annoying and pathetic no one wants to do what means something to them anymore...It's just what's popular..Like
Being a virgin..if that's what's cool ok! And the devastated Haiti is a popular topic right now! Oh and if all else fails just talk about the ENVIRONMENT! Don't get me wrong   ..I do my share for the environment and I'm very concerned about Haiti as well...I do recognize the importance of sexual responsibility !!! Furthermore I do not want to judge anyone but I KNOW that a lot of people that support causes do so just because they want to do what's popular..Something important is like a fashion accessory  ...THIS irks me...I get so mad that people do not have the courage to support what's in their heart
The race is not for the swift but those who can endure...I hope more people will endure the pressure to conform take things slow and ENJOY BEING WHO THEY ARE instead OF what OTHERS WANT THEM TO BE !!!!!!!!!!
