Articles / AVATAR and the 3D Technology:
The movie that made quite an impression in the last year it’s AVATAR. With a stage director like James Cameron and with a budget of $230 billion, AVATAR managed to enter in the top 10 most profitable movies in history. The dramatic story from “the Titanic” had the biggest income $1.842 billion, but James Cameron managed to overtake himself with the story and the special effects of AVATAR.
The Science fiction film presents the story of a war veteran- Jake- sent to socialize with a human colony on a far-away planet Pandora, inhabited with the people of Na’vi. The purpose of this relationship it’s the extraction of mineral resources from Pandora. The young Jake falls in love with Neytiri, a local girl, and tries to save from destruction the alien community.
The production has in cast actors as Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver and Michelle Rodriguez. But the winning formula it’s James Cameron with a 14 years prepared script, 10 years of footage and preparation of the cast and do not forget about 3-D technology.

The 3-D or IMAX technology
Because of special effects, the best way to see the movie it's with the 3D or IMAX technology. You can really feel that you are there, between the tries, near the water, fighting with the enemies, saving the Na’vi people.
Even thought the 3-D or IMAX technology can be a great visual experience, for people with ocular problems, a session of this kind of movie can be a challenge. For movies in 3D format, this kind of persons have a distinct experience. Because of a bigger mental effort to process the image, they can have migraines.
Michael Rosenberg, ophthalmologist at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine from Chicago, made a study to demonstrate the disadvantages of 3-D technology. A lot of doctors agree to Mr. Rosenberg, but like in any other cases there are people that don’t believe that.
The RealID Company says that problems appear only when the movie projectors aren’t well synchronized. The company provides 90% from the 3D equipments in USA and has contracts with Sony Corp., Panasonic, JVC, Toshiba Corp. and Direct TV. They use only one digital projector that moves the images from the left eye to the right eye 144 times a second, solving some of the problems caused by the old technology.
The history and techmical aspects of IMAX technology:

In this case the best thing that you could do before going to a 3D movie it's a visit to the ophthalmologist. And if you don't have any problems: Have a great time to the movies!!!!
