Articles / A walk through Lisbon: 7 cultural tips:
Wanna make a visit to a city in Europe, but you only have two days? Lisbon is the place to be. And take your EYCA card with you!
Stroll through the beautiful old center on foot and discover the steep hills with the traditional yellow tram to admire the amazing view. Not such a fan of walking? Rent an Avis car (50% discount) to cruise around town. Be sure to check out the north of Lisbon where you’ll find the magnificent Expo ’98 site, which I particularly liked. Take a walk from Oriente Station, designed by world-renowned architect Calatrava, to the biggest oceanium of Europe. And when you leave the grandeur of the Vasco Da Gama bridge awaits you. This modern part of Lisbon gave me a new perspective on the city.
Head west to the Belem tower at the banks of the Tagus river and visit art exhibitions or performing arts shows in the Discoveries Foundation of the Belem Cultural Centre (50% discount). Some Unesco world heritage, together with Jeronimos Monastry, to cherish. And when you’re there, don’t forget to eat a typical warm cream tart in one of the pastry shops. A delicious way to end your trip!
